Dear UMBC Community,

We are pleased to announce that finalists for the senior vice provost for academic affairs position will be visiting campus to participate in candidate forums and engage with the UMBC community.

A newly envisioned position at UMBC, elevating the former role of vice provost for academic affairs, the senior vice provost will serve as an academic leader in the Office of the Provost and as the deputy provost. The most senior of the six vice provosts, the position will lead in the areas of academic resource planning and management, curricular affairs, accreditation and assessment, and large-scale initiatives. The senior vice provost will also serve as a spokesperson for academic affairs and will represent the provost and UMBC at public-facing events.
